Santa Cruz Blur TRc

Santa Cruz Blur TRc - trail bike redefined

Santa Cruz sum this bike up like this "An entirely new addition to our family, the Blur TRc defines what we think a trail bike should be. Crafted from carbon fiber, featuring our proprietary lay-up process, the frame weighs a scant 5 pounds with shock included. Patented VPP suspension offers 5 inches of travel and combined with the carbon fiber frame, chassis rigidity is second to none. The top tube length and riding position are evolved from our climb-happy xc bikes – a bit more stretched out than on our longer travel rigs – but mated to a relaxed head angle that is sure to make any dedicated gravity fiend weep with joy."

This frame is decked out with the newest 10 speed XTR kit. The cranks are 2x 10 with 42/30 chainrings. The brakes are the more powerful XTR trail version. The cranks are 175mm but I would have preferred 172.5mm to match my road and TT bikes and give a little more ground clearance.

The fork is a Fox 32 130mm. This is longer than the 120mm we use on the Blur XC but not so long as to raise the front of the bike and change the climbing characteristics.

The wheels are Reynolds Carbon XCs weighing less than 1400g. Lets see how they handle the Wooroi rocks.

Maxxis are coming to the party with the new Ikon 2.20 Exc/EXO/3c tyres. Thats a lot of acronyms for one tyre so they promise to be expensive grippy and durable.

Finishing touches are a Thomson masterpeice seatpost, Easton EA90 stem and Crank Bros Cobalt 11 carbon riser bar.
